Participants of the International Workshop on Psycho-Social Care and Support for Children Visited Talpiot

A group of thirty health and welfare professionals and high officials from over twenty countries visited the Talpiot Children Village on May 8th, 2014 to learn about the Talpiot Treatment Model and the organization’s spectrum of community-oriented programs. The visit was a significant component in the program of the International Workshop on Psycho-Social Care and Support for Children, sponsored by the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs Agency for International Development Cooperation (Mashav), in cooperation with UNAIDS, the Joint United Nations Program on HIC/AIDS.   The group received from Simona Kedmi, Director of Resource Development, a detailed account of Talpiot’s programs regarding at-risk children and their families in the children village and in the community in the wider region around the city of Hadera. The Talpiot child and family focused treatment model won particular interest and many questions were raised. At the conclusion of the presentation, the group visited the family units in the village and met with the children. At the conclusion of the visit, many of the participants expressed their desire to emulate the Talpiot model and methodology in their own countries.
