Our Mission Statement

Our mission is to reduce the number of at-risk children and youth and prevent risk situations in the family. Our numerous programs and services include a children village with residential and day facilities, as well as a variety of outreach programs in the wider community. All our endeavors and initiatives are based on the belief that a child should grow up at home with his family. Therefore, we focus our attention and efforts on the entire at-risk family.

A New Branch of Rimonim Regional Treatment Center
As a first step in replicating the model of Rimonim Regional Treatment Center for Sex Abuse Among Children in Hadera to a chain of centers nation-wide, the Ministry of Social Services has certified Talpiot to establish a regional southern branch, which will be based in Netanya. The Rimonim southern branch will have outreach facilities in Kadima and Herzliya and will cover an overall population of 350,000 people. The branch will be jointly financed by the Ministry of Social Services, the National Insurance Institute, the Rashi Foundation and Talpiot. The new branch will operate with the same mission, goals and objectives of Rimonim and will provide the same range of services to the population, according to its needs. Some of the present clients of Rimonim are children and families from Netanya and the region, and thus, the opening of the new branch will facilitate their access to the Center's services. Talpiot has chosen an appropriate venue for the new center in Netanya and is currently going through the initial stages i.e. reconstruction, refurbishment and equipping of the building, in order to suit and accommodate the activities which will take place there. These stages will require an estimated budget of NIS 168,000.
Internet Cafe Run by Mothers of Talpiot Children
We have concluded the construction of an internet cafי on the Talpiot Village premises, which will be managed by the mothers of children residing in the Village. This project was supported by friends of Talpiot in the United Kingdom and by Bezeq Communications. The cafי will offer a variety of dishes prepared by the mothers, and will provide a warm and inviting venue for visiting families, staff and professionals participating in workshops and conferences conducted in the village. It will also be used to train the families in the safe use of the internet.
20% More Children Attend the After-School Day Care Program This Year
In response to real needs in the community and the rise in referrals of at-risk children by welfare authorities in the entire region of Hadera, the Talpiot After-School Day Care Program has increased the number of at-risk children attending by 20%. Concurrently, the program has significantly expanded its parents therapy and counseling groups and has initiated additional child-parent activities. This growth is a direct expression of the regional acknowledgement in the program's effectiveness as a regional treatment-rehabilitation-prevention intervention.
New Family Units at Talpiot
Talpiot opened three new family units in the Children Village, which serve as warm and supportive homes for an additional 36 at-risk boys and girls. Thus, as of the current school year of 2009/2010 the therapeutic residential facility includes ten family units, housing a total of 120 children and youth. All the children and youth are referred to Talpiot by the welfare authorities in the region of Hadera. A few tens of children reside in the village under a court order.
